WOYZECK/ GALILEO

from GEORG BÜCHNER &  BERTOLT BRECHT

FOGG ART MUSEUM | Cambridge, MA | February 2018

WOYZECK/GALILEO is a new devised work combining Georg Büchner's WOYZECK and Bertolt Brecht's LIFE OF GALILEO with the poetry of Günter Eich. This collision of two of history’s most celebrated dramatic works was presented in conjunction with the special exhibition Inventur—Art in Germany, 1943–55 at the Fogg Art Museum. An exploration of human frailty and resilience in the context of historical, scientific, and technological development was the first theatrical performance in the Fogg Art Museum's Calderwood Courtyard, designed by world-renowned architect Renzo Piano.
