SWEET BIRD
from TENNESSEE WILLIAMS and JESS BARBAGALLO
The Barn at Lee, Provincetown Tennessee Williams Festival | Provincetown, MA | September 2025

Princess Kosmonopolis (Bianca Leigh) is a movie star – or at least she used to be.
Far from Hollywood, she's arrived with her escort, Chance Wayne (Marcus Amaglo), in his hometown of St. Cloud, Mississippi. He’s desperate to track down his high school sweetheart, Heavenly, and ride off with her into the sunset.
The trouble is Heavenly isn’t a person, she’s Chloe Claudel in an angel costume summarizing Act II of Tennessee Williams’ Sweet Bird of Youth in a brilliant piece of original text by playwright Jess Barbagallo.
SWEET BIRD turns Tennessee Williams’ controversial 1959 ensemble drama inside out.
